Knights of this lineage enlisted to Santiago’s Order; don Juan Bravo de Hoyos, natural of Solórzano, on 1617; and don Melchor Bravo de Hoyos, on 1660; don Juan and don Alonso Bravo de la Meza, natural of Los Reyes (Peru), on 1666; don Juan Bautista Bravo Velasco y Perrones, natural of Santelices, on 1673; don Francisco Bravo de Sobremonte, natural of Valladolid, on 1682, many other members of this surname enlisted to Carlos III’ Orders, of San Juan de Jerusalem.

Don Juan Sebastian Bravo y Cabrera became Conde de la Encina on May 5 of 1771.

Its arms: In field of azure a silver tower and two lions of gold raised to their walls.
