Urquiza Family Crest

Good evening today I am posting the Urquiza Family Crest.

Viscaino last name, the columnist don Lope García de Salazar, mentions in his work  “Bienanzas e Fortunas” the four older lineages of  Vizcaya, the Urquiza, Lartal, Galdazano and Ayanguiz, but he doesn’t mention any knight with the last name Urquiza, this is very strange, since he commented Urquiza beign one of the oldest in Galicia. There is doubt that this lineage is really very old. Don Jaime de Querejeta, tells us that the word Urquiza, translated from the vasco means “birch”, that is to say a place where many birches existed. Its Arms: In field of gold a band of azure, accompanied in the high of a star of the same color, and in the low a saltire, also of azure.
