Last name formed by a branch of the house of Lara which had the Señorío de Molina. It extended to the whole Peninsula, passing Canaries and America.
The infant don Alonso, married four times, one of them with doña Mayor Alonso de Meneses, and from this relationship doña María de Molina Meneses was born who married King Don Sancho IV on1282, She had the glory of sitting down in the throne of Castilla. Don Gil Francisco de Molina y Junterón was created Marquis of Beniel on 1709; don Juan Antonio Molina y Rocha was created Marquis of Ureñan on 1739; don Diego Molina y Borja was created Viscount of Huerta on 1789. Its Arms: In field of azure, a silver tower, at the bottom a half mill wheel, of the same metal; accompanied by three flowers of lily of gold, one on top and another to each side of the tower. Gules bordure with eight crosses of gold.
