delaunet

Last name originated in Anjou, France. Its arms were registered after modifying XIV Luis’ ordinance in the year 1696.

One of its branches passed Spain in 1870. This last name is written, “Delaunet” instead of Launet, since the French revolution. But when the marriage between Francisco of Launet and doña Sofía Victoria of Beauvau-Tigny (only daughter of don Luis de Beauvau-Tigny, II Marquis of Beauvau and of doña Victoria of Marcillán-Comminges), was broken in Nantes June 20 of 1801.This last name appears for the first time as “Delaunet” as a single word, instead of “de Launet”. Don Alfonso de Launet de la Sanclerie (1848-1915), oldest son of don Eugenio de Launet of Beauvau-Tigny and of doña Alfonsa de Sanclerie, obtained the permit to change his last name “Delaunet” to “de Launet” as per the notion of the tribunal of Nantes in June 23, 1914.

  1. Delaunet

This story is a total lie. The branch of Delaunet which left for Spain invented it. Delaunet is a very widespread name in France. It wants to say the one who lives near an alder forest. Usually it spells Delaunay or Delauney. It is a mistake of writing made in 2 regions, Anjou and Burgundy, that transformed the name into Delaunet. François Delaunet who married Sophie de Beauvau Tigny has never been noble. And the Louis XIV ruling they speak about has never existed. This kind of lie could bring them a trial.
