Aguirre Family Crest

The Aguirre from Guipúzcoa are the oldest of this family name, as gentlemen of this lineage were with Don Ramiro I at the Calvijo’s battle the year of 850. Pedro Ibáñez de Aguirre y López Ibáñez, sons of Juan Suárez, were neighbors of Tolosa on 1346.
De Guipúzcoa are the houses of Gaviria, Azpeitia, Escoriaza, Anoeta, Villarreal de Urrechu Legorreta, Ichaso and many more. Aguirre in Basque means “high place overlooking a field”, and with this name were known many homes that had this condition, what resulted in many lineages of this family name unrelated.
Its Arms: In a silver field a gules chevron, loaded with three gold stars, and accompanied with three vert water-lily leaves.
