Rubio. Castilian surname, of Laredo (Santander), spread throughout the peninsula. He proved his nobility in the Order of Santiago in the years 1731, 1751 and 1758, and in Alcantara in 1681, numerous times in the Royal Chancery of Valladolid and the Royal Audiencia de Oviedo 1760, 1774, 1783, 1802 and 1823. Their arms: In a silver field, a tree vert, and in the trunk a shield azure, with five gold panels.
